The Happy Home’s 5 Most Popular Projects of 2011

by emily on 12/29/2011

I guess it’s a major bummer that my blogging has slowed down these last few months of 2011, but I’m here to do a nice little recap.  I already posted about some of the best SEO phrases people have used to find The Happy Home.  So, here’s a countdown of my 5 most popular posts!

5) The  first on the list?  How To Make Wine Crate Shelves had 736 hits.

4) I thought this was more popular– Banana Cupcakes with Nutella Whipped Cream Frosting (It had 888 views.)

3) A great way to go for 1,100 folks: Death By Chocolate Trifle

2) Want a fall treat? So did 1,287 people who wanted Homemade Apple Butter

1) With 1664 views– the DIY Mercury Glass project!

Some Fun Facts!

  • The Happy Home got visits from 124 countries, including: an absurdly high number of folks from Turkey; apparently I’m not censored in China, United Arab Emirates, or Saudi Arabia; Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Mauritius, The Northern Mariana Islands, and the French Overseas Region of Réunion.
  • The people of Toronto have spoken– I got 216 views from someone or a group of people in Toronto, making that the city outside of America that visits The Happy Home the most!
  • All these folks culminated in about 60,000 page views.  Not all-star, but I’ll take it!
  • On July 23rd, I broke 1,000 Twitter followers.  Shucks– I guess being bored at work pays off.

My absolute and sincerest thanks to everyone who has ever visited this blog.  It really does bring so much joy to do these little projects, take these pictures, and to talk to everyone who stumbles their way over here.  I hate the fact that I haven’t done or posted any projects in so long– I’m trying to get back on schedule and re-orient myself for 2012.

I hope that anyone who really wants to stay in touch can follow me on Twitter– it is where I spend a lot of my days, and where I share most of my thoughts and news nowadays.  140 characters of connection, every day.  But be warned: I tweet a lot.

And I’ve been trying to update the Facebook Page with more photos-on-the-fly.  Consider that your one-stop shop for chow chow and pit bull photos, and the occasional foodie treat, as well.

It sounds so horrible, but my resolution really is to be a better blogger in 2012.  To share more of my daily life on this here weblog, and to get back in the groove of making treats for everyone to enjoy.

I’m sure hoping to stop back in once more before the gong hits midnight on Saturday, but in case I don’t see ya… all my love and be safe this New Year’s Eve!

Nice work on your traffic! I’m still working to get my traffic where I’d like it to be. I think you’ve been a great blogger in 2011, but it’ll be fun to see where 2012 takes us all!
