Home Renovation: The Contents of our Frame

by emily on 06/29/2010

It didn’t take us long to figure out who we wanted to live in our door frame.

This is an AMAZING animal portrait from the Etsy seller, Berkely Illustration.  Because our frame is such a wacky size, David cut the mat to custom-fit the 8″x10″ illustration that we purchased.

(I guess you guys have noticed now that David does a lot of the handiwork on our projects.  I have little to no artistic skill; my domesticity is generally confined to desserts and the occasional avant garde use of tofu.  Maybe I’ve got some skill in decorating, too, but when it comes to sharp knives and straight lines, David is the one to be trusted.)

Reginald, as he has now come to be called, is a pretty impressive force on our wall.  We’re going to purchase a few more, smaller animal portraits to hang around Reginald.  You know, his extended family.

These Etsy sellers are also some of the kindest I’ve come across in my many transactions.  I think I got my otter portrait 2 days after they returned from their vacation.  Amazing!
