Hi, Everyone! I’m a bit frazzled at the moment, so this week’s posts are going to consist mostly of photo collections and guest posts! If you’re interested in guest posting, please email me and we’ll talk about getting something live!
So!
One thing I’ve noticed recently is how much of a visceral reaction I have to certain colors. Namely? Red.
I can’t STAND the color red– especially in decor! (Click on each photo to go to its originator.)
The color red just makes me agitated. I can handle certain shades (like, plummy or purple-ish reds), but these tomato colors just make me feel terrible.
Where do you stand on bright red interiors?

It’s funny, I used to love dark browns, reds, purples and golds in my decor. Now? I would die if I had to live in some of those rooms I decorated in college and right after! My style has most definitely changed, now I’m all about mint/sage greens, soft blues, and shades of white and grey.

AGREED! I can’t think of a single red item that I own, except for a set of IKEA measuring cups.

How funny! I have only gone through a red phase once during my college days. Unfortunately a lot of the kitchen tools I bought for my college apartment reflect that. Thankfully I’m getting old and that stuff is breaking and getting replaced. Ha! Never thought there’d be a silver lining to aging. ;)
I have never ever been able to stand bright orange. Burnt orange/rust I can do in small doses. Think bright orange like David’s old microwave. Can’t stand it!

I love red, but feel like it needs to be tempered with other colors. personally, I love mixing it with blues and greens. I wonder if you’d feel differently about reds if you hunted for some photos with more color balance?

I like red, but really only for clothing. I think red decor runs the risk of looking cheap or like a Target store. I also don’t understand why you would want to decorate your home in such an aggressive shade of red. I think homes should feel like calm havens, so I’m more apt to gravitate towards blues, greens, and off white shades for interior decor. On the bright side, if you did shoot yourself in that one kitchen, you wouldn’t have to clean up the blood. ;)
